As such, given that the Awards program is an initiative of Fitness Australia this mission is intrinsically linked to the awards.

When answering the nomination question you should think about how you are working towards or have helped to achieve a fitter healthier Australia.

In your answers highlight activities you have undertaken or participated in that have encompassed maximum community involvement. Talk about programs you run encourage different demographics to become involved in fitness activities.

You do not get to choose the business category you are nominated in, so when completing the Business Nomination Form make sure you are accurate in your business structure and member/client numbers to ensure you are placed in the most appropriate category.

The judges for the business awards will be experts in the business arena as well as those from the fitness industry. Most business professionals believe that a committed business, especially one that supports its industry will be a member of its industry association. As such Business Members of Fitness Australia, the health and fitness industry association, will most likely rate higher in question one of the Business Nomination. Ensuring you are registered or employ only registered staff and assist them (through time, financial or practical support) to undergo continuing education is important in servicing clients, as such is important to identify how you do this, thus demonstrating your currency in the industry.

A true understanding of what makes you great is important, being able to articulate this clearly to different audiences is vital. Make sure you are very clear on why you or your business deserve the award before starting the nomination. It may be worthwhile to answer question six first. Ensure this is not just a rehash of the other questions - this is your opportunity to say in your own words why you deserve the award.
